Matt successfully mobilized college students to press Iowa legislators to get informed about critical environmental issues.
Matt coordinated Iowa Students Toward Environmental Protection (IowaStep). As a statewide network of college environmental groups, IowaStep allowed students to coordinate actions and exchange information. The network resulted in nearly a dozen successful non-violent direct actions and a lobby day with students from five colleges speaking to more than fifteen Iowa legislators and the Lieutenant Governor about upcoming environmental bills.
