Amplifying narratives of frontline communities

Tina is a 21 year old from rural New Brunswick, Canada who is a divestment organizer in a nationally-recognized, student-led fossil fuel divestment campaign at Mount Allison University. She is part of the steering committee for a national climate convergence called RISE 2019 in Ottawa to gather, skill-share and train young people in direct action, movement building, and anti-oppressive organizing.

Tina was named one of Canada’s Top 25 Environmentalists Under 25 by Starfish Canada for her activism and divestment work. In addition, Tina is also the interim Coordinator for the Canadian Youth Delegation (CYD) that sends activists from across Canada to United Nations’ climate change conferences. She has acted as a delegate for the previous CYD to the United Nations’ climate change negotiations in Marrakech Morocco (COP 22) and Bonn, Germany (COP 23). The focus of her delegations are to hold the Canadian government accountable to climate justice and the Paris Agreement.
